HEALTH BENEFITS

How can breathwork help me?
My approach is rooted in the scientific and medical evidence.
Medical science is increasingly producing evidence for the wide-ranging benefits of breathing exercises of various kinds. The idea that a healthy breathing style should be part of a responsible and balanced medical approach is growing in acceptance among both the medical community and the general public.
The huge variety of effects of different styles of breathing means I have a well-stocked toolkit for engaging with a wide variety of health issues, ranging from the physical to the psychological and emotional.
Depending on the client’s health needs, we can focus on exercises that tackle sleep (snoring, apnoea), high blood pressure, restricted breathing, post-illness pain, anxiety and panic attacks, even trauma.
What is breathwork?
I find it useful to compare improving your breathing style to improving your physical fitness.
The perfect physical exercise for you blends familiar, fundamental principles with your preferences and needs.
You do it because you enjoy it and because it makes you feel good afterwards - and hopefully while you're doing it too.
You do it because you want a good, happy and long life.
All these statements apply equally to breathwork.
In the case of breathwork, there are exercises that affect mood state, change blood pressure and heart rate, aid digestion, affect posture, increase focus, and strengthen the entire upper body
From sleep to singing
Depending on the client’s health needs, we can focus on exercises that tackle sleep issues (snoring, apnoea), high blood pressure, restricted breathing, post-illness pain, anxiety and panic attacks, and even trauma.
Pretty much everything we do involves breathing. That means improved breathing can make for a better experience of pretty much everything you do – whether that’s sports, everyday chores, studying, talking or singing, or simply relaxing.
